  1. Tyler Cowen on “The Portal”, Ep. #016 (w/ Eric Weinstein) - The Revolution Will Not Be Marginalized.

In this episode, Eric sits down with economist Prof. Tyler Cowen to discuss how/why a Harvard educated chess prodigy would choose a commuter school to launch a stealth attack on the self-satisfied economic establishment, various forms of existential risk, tech/social stagnation and more. On first glance, Tyler Cowen is an unlikely candidate for America’s most influential economist. Since 2003, Cowen has grown his widely read and revered economics blog Marginal Revolution with lively thought, insight and prose resulting in a successful war of attrition against traditional thinking. In fact, his well of heterodox thinking is so deep that there is an argument to be made that Tyler may be the living person with the most diverse set of original rigorous opinions to be found in any conversation. The conversation takes many turns and is thus hard to categorize. We hope you enjoy it.

  4. Colin Trevorrow, and Kathleen Kennedy’s Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Mismanagement

Get Surfshark VPN at https://surfshark.deals/midnight - Enter promo code MIDNIGHT for 83% off and one extra month for FREE!

Before Rise of Skywalker, Colin Trevorrow was intended to direct the third movie of the sequel trilogy, “Duel of The Fates”. That never happened, and because of it, the sequel trilogy isn’t really a trilogy at all. The fault for that lies squarely with Lucasfilm, and with Kathleen Kennedy.

In this video, @Andre Einherjar will argue why Disney’s sequel trilogy is no trilogy, how easily it could have been, and why Kathleen Kennedy chose the worst possible course of action in light of Carrie Fischer’s passing.

  10. Why Nostalgia Could End With the ’90s | NowThis Nerd

Dev Allen takes a look at the current ‘90s revival, and whether it will be the last retro craze we ever see. » Subscribe to NowThis Nerd: http://go.nowth.is/Nerd_Subscribe

90s nostalgia is all the rage these days, and former 90s kids all over the world are embracing the 90s movies, 90s cartoons, 90s shows and 90s music they grew up on. But even if you’re a die hard 90s kid obsessed with things only 90s kids will remember, you’re just taking part in the newest version of the classic nostalgic cycle. Then and now, pop culture has always been obsessed with throwback to retro classics, renewing interest in what was popular back in the day. In the 70s and 80s, we were obsessed with the 50s and 60s. In the 90s, we fixated on the 70s, and in the 2000s, we all said I love the 80s with a fresh revival of 80s cartoons and 80s shows, on top of tributes like Stranger Things, It, and Freaks and Geeks.

Now that the 90s kids are all growed up, they’re ready for a revival of the best 90s cartoons and 90s culture they remember watching on Nickelodeon when they were younger. Nicktoons like Doug, Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, Hey Arnold, and Spongebob defined us growing up, and now they’re defining the new content we consume, especially with the recently announced Nicksplat streaming servic…
