Before Rise of Skywalker, Colin Trevorrow was intended to direct the third movie of the sequel trilogy, “Duel of The Fates”. That never happened, and because of it, the sequel trilogy isn’t really a trilogy at all. The fault for that lies squarely with Lucasfilm, and with Kathleen Kennedy.
