“One Negawatt Hour = One Megawatt Conserved for One Hour” – it’s the opposite of one megawatt hour – a term coined by Amory Lovins in 1989, while pointing a way towards a new conservational approach towards energy consumption.
The company Enernoc is working in cahoots with large energy users in California and the 3 state’s three utilities companies, are participating in the Negawatt network, where participants respond to high use times by cutting back usage at those times, showing evidence that it is cheaper to conserve.
