Update: This episode went offline for a little while last night after Brace got in contact with concerns about his security. We wanted to play things safe and took it down, but now it’s back up.

  2. Existentialism and Meaning with Theodore Dalrymple | Hermitix

Hermitix is a podcast focusing on one-on-one interviews relating to fringe philosophy, obscure theory, weird lit, underappreciated thinkers and movements, and that which historically finds itself ‘outside’ the academic canon.

The aim of the podcast is to allow autodidactic thinkers, amateur philosophers and the generally curious an insight into the work of thinkers who are often impenetrable to those outside of the academy.

With the discussions at Hermitix aiming to be informal idea barrages which attempt to retain the excitement of ‘the fringes’ without falling into the structural ‘niche’ pitfalls of the academy.

The range of speakers Hermitix intends to interview includes, but isn’t limited to: PHd students, authors, philosophers, theorists and prominent bloggers.

  4. Who even cares about design & designers? by Daniel Burka, Mike Davidson, Mia Blume, & Amélie Lamont at Front Salt Lake City 2017

"Of all the echo chambers in the world, the one labeled “Design” may be the most echo-y. And of the seven billion people on the planet, there are arguably very few who know what Design is, what a Designer does, or how things are made better because of them. Do Designers even know? Do they care? Does it matter? Really? Our panel of pundits will get into the nitty gritty of what Design is, who Designers are, and how (or IF) things can be made better by each."
