In today’s #WiseGirl video, I talk with sociologist Dr. Michael Kimmel about men, masculinity, patriarchy, equality, #TimesUp and #MeToo. We look at what men need to know about gender and socialization, how equality helps men (and women) live happier and more fulfilled lives, and how men need to challenge other men in/on a culture of silence around sexual harassment. Kimmel is the SUNY Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Gender at Stony Brook University and the founder of the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities. http://www.michaelkimmel.com/

This video is a direct reply to +Francesco D’Alessio’s "Evernote Tags and 500 Subscribers" video from last week. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjxm-…
Francesco has asked for Showcases of Evernote Tagging Systems. So here we go with ours.
NAMES When using Evernote to manage all private and business projects we have to refer or delegate to people quite frequently. You need to have a reliable system to find people related notes.
:Firstname-Lastname or :Lastname-Firstname
STATUSES There are plenty of actionable items in our system. If you use it right, Evernote is a great task management app — no external software needed. #needs-reply #awaits-call #waiting-for-reply #payment-due #todo
THINGS Don’t clutter your system! You should choose to only add relevant tags that guide you and your team through the Evernote System. /contract /recording /meeting-notes
AREAS Francesco uses a notebook called AREAS in his notebook system which he describes here: http://ow.ly/3y2PWX Notes can only sit in one notebook at a time. Using Area tags lets you find all the notes that are assigned to a special place in your system such as: @Mac @Corporation-name @EuroProductives @Car-Rental

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a world famous “spiritual” programme of recovery for alcoholism — but can a non-existent Higher Power really offer meaningful solutions to this debilitating, potentially fatal, condition? If so, how do we help all the atheist alcoholics? AA’s famous 12 Step programme evolved from the tenets of a now forgotten evangelical Christian mass movement for sobriety. First published in 1939, it remains entirely unchanged since then. How did AA become the go-to treatment modality for one of the great social health scourges of our age? It’s the twenty first century, is this really the best we can do? More than just a discussion of AA and alcoholism, this talk draws on the work of philosopher Dan Dennett and evolutionary psychologist Andy Thomson (Trustee of the Richard Dawkins Foundation) to present a wide ranging and humorous case study of how the internet threatens previously sacred texts and closed systems of knowledge. Jon Stewart was co-founder, guitarist and co-songwriter for platinum-selling Britpop band Sleeper. He currently lectures in popular culture at a local HE Institution, and is a PhD researcher at University of Southampton A grateful sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 17 years, Jon now campaigns for more up-to-date evidence-based secular treatment op…

Those who lead inspire us. We follow those who lead because we want to and for selfish reasons. Those who start with "why" that have the ability to inspire those around them or find others who inspire them.
You have to know WHY you do what you do.
You have to have DISCIPLINE of how.
You have to have consistency of WHAT.
How to implement AUTHENTICITY
