In this episode of The Hawk’s Nest, we take a closer look at the Seahawks close victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs gave the Seahawks all they could handle, but in the end, having a Hall of Fame quarterback in the middle of his prime, enjoying a MVP season was the difference in the game. The defense continues to be one of the league’s worst units, while kicker Jason Meyers has suddenly seemingly developed a case of the yips. I go into a little more detail in some of what Russell Wilson has added to his game, and how these nuanced elements are making him nearly unstoppable.
Seahawks signed Josh Gordon last week. I explain why the success of this move might not just be determined by the football field, but whether Gordon can toe the line of good behavior. The talent is undeniable, and he is a perfect fit for Russell’s skillset.
Time to give Rashaad Penny more carries. Chris Carson is on pace for 360 touches for this season, and now is having legitimate fumble issues. Penny is averaging a half yard more per carry and has yet to fumble in his NFL career. Let’s preserve Carson for the playoffs, balance the load, and mitigate some of these fumbles.
