  4. Sarah, the ‘Most Hated Person in Fandom’

Sarah Ebel has one of the most interesting jobs at the Field Museum, but it’s likely not one that would jump to mind if I asked you about exciting museum positions. She’s an attorney, and in addition to helping us sort out copyright and licensing issues it’s also her responsibility to do things like keep us up to date on federal wildlife trafficking laws, and, you know, figure out how to install a temporary sink for a tattoo parlor we built in an exhibition.

Today she’s on the show to share a few stories. The first has to do with the time she was asked by the Fan Association of North America (seriously, fans of fans) to talk about how Obama’s ban on the interstate trade of ivory was going to impact their hobby. It, uh. Didn’t go so great.

More info on the ivory ban: https://www.fws.gov/international/travel-and-trade/ivory-ban-questions-and-answers.html

  5. How I Color Dark Skin Tones in Adult Coloring books using polychromos colored pencils.

Even though I’m no artist I have gotten many requests to show how to do dark or African (American) skin tones. In this polychromos tutorial I will go over how I select the colored pencil colors to layer, how I decide in what order the layers should be applied. I also go over how I "practice" this.

  6. Inktense the hidden truth. Inktense claims finally tested.

In this video I review the Derwent Inktense pencils and the Inktense blocks. These are water soluble pencils and blocks. They are unique because they are ink and not watercolor. In theory these lay down and once wet and they dissolve they are supposed to be permanent. In theory. And they are a little. They layer wonderfully and dissolve wonderfully. They are in fact great for layering however they can be lifted. For the price they are, in fact, wonderfully vibrant and the best at layering. However, they aren’t the only watersoluble media that will layer. The Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer also layer really well and have more colors that are much more light fast.

In the end I think its a disservice to say these are the only watersoluble pencils that will layer. The real benefit with the Inktense pencils and blocks is the wonderful vibrancy that is unmatched at this price point as well as the ability for them to be used so well in multimedia projects.

  9. ART COMMUNITY SUCKS! (RE: DONE WITH THIS) The Holly Brown drama

Okay guys, this is another bitter topic, but at least there’s some footage, this time. It’s me doing some sketches on my books. They’re pretty quick and real time, thought you could enjoy seeing my real time process. Anyway today I want to talk about the recent events "in the art community", regarding especially Youtuber Artist Holly Brown and her lack of any social filter. I am so sick of people whiteknighting bad behaviors, and sick of who thinks you need to be a total douche to voice your opinion and be blunt/honest. She recently got over the top, she unlisted most of her videos and has thrown a temper tantrum over the honest, blunt responses she received on her "free talk" videos. I don’t have videos right now to back up what I’m saying, so you’ll have to take my word on that. I have screenshots but I don’t know how much could help without a context. If you have any videos saved/mirrored, please feel free to link it down below and I will add it to the description. It’s way too easy get rid of tricky content and hiding the head under the sand, not taking responsibility for anything. I don’t care about crazy fans anymore, I just think some things must be said and since she’s silencing everybody on her videos deleting comments or the source of the issue altogether, I thought my best shot was fi…

  10. Vegan Watercolor Paint Guide & a Discussion on Sustainability

It’s finally done! This video has by far taken me the longest to date to research, film, and edit for your viewing pleasure, so I very much hope that it is helpful and well received.

Today we are going to be talking about vegan watercolor brands of paint along with a small discussion on sustainability in conjuncture with the "vegan" label. This does have a lengthy introduction/discussion, so if you simply want your list of watercolors, skip ahead to 8:55 or see the list below.

If you’d like to hear about my personal background and stance on the importance of sustainability and humane treatment of animals rather that just pure veganism, I’d love for you to stick around! Also be sure to watch to the end for a Cricket cameo and an exciting announcement :)

(Vegan) Watercolor Reviews The following colors are vegan aside from a few select colors in some brands (mainly those including PBk9) which are mentioned in the video itself.
