In this episode, Skye interviews entrepreneur and angel investor Jason Calacanis. Jason, who is Skye’s boss, also hosts two podcasts, This Week in Startups and Angel. Before this interview was recorded, Jason told Skye she could ask him anything — and she took him up on that. The pair discuss:

Jason’s rollercoaster childhood; What drove him to get out of Brooklyn; The wild ups and downs of his entrepreneurial career; How he got into podcasting; Why a network TV show featuring Jason was axed; Why Skye thinks Jason is just a teensy bit Trumpian; His favorite podasts. 2. Self-Driving Zeppelin

On the fourth episode of series 2, Clinton is joined by Jason Snell to discuss things related The Incomparable Podcast, including how the panelists find time to consume all the media talked about on the show, the versatility of podcasting as a medium, critiqing art, what qualifies as art, the strengths of different story telling mediums and why superhero comics might be unappealing to new readers.

Clinton and Jason also discuss why reading may or may not be important, how liturature should be deployed in schools and Obligatory Shakespere.

Filling out the tech portion of the show, Jason shares his thoughts on the much rumoured half-height Mac Pro and the tale of two Googles.

  3. Skepchicks in the Lounge with Phil Plait!

I’m pleased to announce that we have finally released another episode of the Skepchick Podcast! This will be the first in a series called Skepchicks in the Lounge, in which the Skepchicks gather together for drinks and conversation with someone interesting – in this case, we discuss the International Year of Astronomy with Dr. Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy and JREF!

Yes, this episode came way late, for which I apologize. It is obvious to me that there are greater (evil) forces at work trying to prevent the podcast from hitting its stride, since we encountered technical problems that forced us to re-record the entire show and then our lovely editor and amazing Skepchick A was nearly murdered by a particularly vicious bacteria.

So, we’re still a bit wobbly on the whole podcasting thing, and hope to straighten things out in order to achieve maximum awesomeness in the near future.

For this extra-special 100th episode of The Wolf Den, Adam talks with the very first MacArthur Fellow to be on the show, Jad Abumrad. Jad is the creator and co-host of Radiolab, a public radio show heard on more than 500 stations, and one of the most popular podcasts of all time. Jad and Adam talk about the creative process behind Radiolab, and the "gut churn" that Jad says was essential to create the show. Jad also shares his views on podcasting today, and the opportunities available for fresh talent in public radio and podcasting. Finally, he gives hard-earned advice for the aspiring audio producer.
