  4. Behind the Scenes! | OSHA? More like NOSHA

    Here's how I do what I do for the videos on this channel. Since I am getting out from under the weather, hope you enjoy the glasses look (even if I'm squinting because I never wear them).

    Things that didn't make it into the video: - I don't use batteries anywhere except for the lav mic - the camera and lights are on A/C power. Hence the abundance of cables everywhere in the thumbnail - The PC case is in a larger wooden box to keep the cats from pressing the power button, which was ingeniously put in top

  8. Harry Potter is apparently a creative conservative | Beyond Order from a cognitive psychologist

    Will we finally learn why we shouldn't talk derisively about social institutions or creative achievement? Hmm, time will tell, dear viewer.

    I can tell you that box kitty makes a return in this video, plus the other two stopping in for brief visits.

    General video comments - Say hi to our new owl friend. It'll pop up in places where I think a citation may be warranted, but it also seems like it could be opinion… Or for what-is-this-even momenets. - I had a PEBUAC error with the microphone, so the sound is a little extra reverby for a couple shots. Apologies in advance. - I can't mesh Peterson talking about Pocahontas as he does. His elevation of the movie character to fit his argument, while basically ignoring the actual person and her life. Sus. - This is in the description box because the go-to example for painting and mental health in Intro Psych (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Wain) may not have been experiencing worsening schizophrenia, as popularly believed - The Jung background - those are mustache birds.

  10. It’s all good in the hierarchy | “Beyond Order” from a cognitive psychologist

    We are continuing on in the first rule of Jordan B. Peterson's sequel to "12 Rules for Life" - Do not carelessly denigrate social institutions or creative achievement. This time we are talking about how good it is to be on the different levels of the hierarchy.

    Comments - Tried a different camera angle for one shot, and… it looked better in the test shot than final, but, eh. These things happen. Live and learn. - I imagine Peterson got into Harry Potter in the time between books and enjoyed the story - hence its inclusion in this book but not the previous. I don't think it's because of the author's stance on a population segment, but I could be wrong. - Reference 8 data discussion: because my plots are based on aggregate data, they may be a little off the values that would be found if using the raw data. I know. But it should serve for the purposes of discussion.
