  1. Time (Priority) Management - Part 2 (Hall Of Fame Guidance) | Manager Tools

Today, we cover the second in a two-part series of podcasts on Time Management.

If you're new to the show or you didn't listen to last week's podcast, it's probably worth while going back and listening to the previous show first.

Otherwise, you'll be joining the conversation half-way through and we all know how comfortable that feels.

    :-(

We recommend 4 1/2 steps to analyzing your use of time

Roughly Assess Your Time - absolutely no materials other than pen and paper allowed!

    Capture Your Priorities

    Do a Rough Analysis

(part b, only for the truly committed) - Do a "Drucker" Analysis

Put Your Number One Priority on Your Calendar

    That's it!

We walked through steps 1 and 2 last week, today we cover the remainder.

Research published in the Personality & Social Psychology Bulletin in 2014 suggests that writing your life goals helps you get a clear vision for what they look like and fosters motivation. Additional research has shown that such “expressive writing” has been linked to improved mood, well-being and lower stress levels. • Improved thinking and communication.

The “tip of the tongue” moments. Practice increases verbal communication skills, crucial when talking with clients.

Finally, writing closes out your “mental tabs”

Getting important ideas down alleviates the stress caused by anticipating this dreadful outcome. I’ve personally never felt inclined to not work on something just because I “archived” the idea with some notes or an outline—in fact, I’m more likely to work on it since it has already been started!

  3. The Incomparable | Stop Circulating the Tapes (Episode 226)

It’s the holiday season, when it’s time to consider what’s truly important. We spend time with family and friends and maybe even reserve a few moments to ponder some of life’s mysteries: Is Bea Arthur really Boba Fett? Does Han Solo have a secret Wookie bride? What is Tobor spelled backward? And does C-3PO have eyelids?
