SXSW 2009: The Decemberists

  1. The Decemberists - The Rake’s Song

Ed & Luke: Album - The Hazard’s of Love. This album will be released on March 23. Like their other songs, The Rake’s Song has an elaborate story, which really makes their music fun to listen to, though I usually don’t care about lyrics so much. Anyway, you probably already know them. Tickets just went on sale for their show in Raleigh so you should get them if you haven’t seen them! They’re very good live and a lot of fun to see.

  3. ‘Dark Was The Night’ From Radio City Music Hall

In a year of great music, the ‘Dark Was the Night’ compilation is near the top. Now comes ‘Dark Was the Night’: The Concert, a truly mammoth undertaking. Members of The National curated the event to benefit AIDS research with performances by David Byrne, The Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver, Sharon Jones and My Brightest Diamond.
