The US Census Bureau is working to reach every person in the country — even prisoners who can’t vote — with the ten question survey they are required to issue every ten years. The Census is used to redraw electoral districts and to apportion federal funds, so the stakes are high. This means that people are raising questions about how prisoners are counted. Nation’s largest bike share system launched in Minneapolis | KFAI Radio Without Boundaries
On Thursday, June 10, Minneapolis launched its new "Nice Ride" bike share program. About 700 bright green bikes are docked at stations all over the city for short-term rentals. Neighborhood-wide composting program launches in St. Paul | KFAI Radio Without Boundaries
St. Paul’s recycling provider, Eureka Recycling, has begun a pilot project to test curbside pick-up of compostable materials. Six hundred homes will participate in the three-month study to see how landfilled waste can be reduced with industrial composting. KFAI’s Asa Diebolt reports on the project.
