It is possible that there are many other universes that exist parallel to our universe. Theoretical physicist Brian Greene, author of The Elegant Universe, explains how that’s possible in the new book, The Hidden Reality.

Brian Greene | Icarus at the Edge of Time
Recorded 9/23/2008 - Recognized for his groundbreaking discoveries in superstring theory, Brian Greene is also well- known as the host of the Public Broadcasting Service’s NOVA series based on his book, The Elegant Universe. A professor of mathematics and physics at Columbia University, where he researches string theory and quantum gravity, Greene’s goal is to make complex scientific principles accessible to general audiences. Visually stunning, with full-color images from the Hubble Space Telescope, Icarus at the Edge of Time is a futuristic retelling of the fable of Icarus: instead of the sun, a black hole.

Futures in Biotech 31: The Eensy-Weensy Teenie Weenie Big Bang
Host: Marc Pelletier
Guest: Dr. Michio Kaku, Henry Semat Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
In this episode, we are very fortunate to have Dr. Michio Kaku. He is the co-founder of String Field Theory, and a Professor of Theoretical Physics at City Univerity in NY. In our discussion he talks about everything, literally: the theory of EVERYTHING! I must say, if we are going to have a true understanding of the living world, it will demand an understanding our universe and how it ‘s assembled. You can’t separate out the laws of physics from biology, they go hand in hand. Dr. Kaku also talks about the current teleportation experiments to the space shuttle, and how we might some day be able to teleport DNA. Seriously, that is some BIOTECH!!!

String Theory, Time Travel, White Holes, Warp Speed, Multiple Dimensions, and Before the Big Bang
We get questions every week about string theory and topics popularized by science fiction. Here’s the problem. There’s just no evidence. Each of these is based on wonderful and well-formed mathematical equations, or wishful thinking, but they’re very hard (if not impossible) to test in the real Universe.
