Charles Burns: Cartoonist and Illustrator Interview Live in Philadelphia on The Sound of Young America
Charles Burns is a cartoonist and illustrator whose best-known work is the graphic novel Black Hole. His illustrations have been featured in The New Yorker, and his graphic art has promoted products like Altoids and Coca-Cola’s short-lived hip spinoff, OK Cola. We spoke with him at the Philly Improv Theater in Philadelphia.
Jessica Hische is a letterer, illustrator and self-described “avid internetter,” best known for her personal projects Daily Drop Cap and the Should I Work for Free flowchart. Just five years out of college, she currently serves on the TDC board of Directors and is one of the more accomplished young "designistrators" working today. Her work has been featured in most major American design and illustration publications as well as a few overseas and she’s been named one of Print Magazine’s New Visual Artist (20 under 30) an ADC Young Guns and a GDUSA Person to Watch.
