Multimedia: Muscle-Flexing, Quiet Diplomacy, and Iran’s Nuclear Program - FPRI
February 27, 2012 The new U.S. sanctions on Iran have led to heightened tension and escalating rhetoric between Iran and the West. Recently, the IAEA reported that Iran has begun enriching uranium at its underground facility at Fardow, near Qom. In addition to these recent developments it is likely negotiations with Iran (within the P5+1 framework) will take place sometime during the next few months to discuss Iran’s nuclear program. This discussion will outline the view from Israel regarding recent events, and attempt to explore a range of possibilities for the Wests diplomatic strategy during the next six to ten months based on recent Track II discussions.
