My interview with Robert W. “Bob” Bly on one of his latest books Persuasive Presentations for Business. In this book, Bob lays out a clear path for the novice speaker, everything from being assigned to give a talk, how to select a topic how to match your speech to your audience, how to layout and write your presentation, use of visuals and more. He also presents the various types of presentations professionals might give: workplace presentations, association meetings, product seminars, corporate training, shareholder meetings, workshops and more.
This is one more excellent resource from one of the most prolific business writers today. Bob has over 73 books out since his first in 1982 (The Elements of technical Writing, which is still in print). I highlight two of his books here, both filled with hi-liter yellow, Post-it flags, and margin notes. I also use a Moleskin notebook when I read Bob’s books so I can add to my “to-do” list.
In the interview Bob and I discuss only a few of the high points of this “must have” in your business library book.
I have known Bob for several years and his books and his presentations are always chock full of useful information. You can follow what Bob is up to, subscribe to his great eZine, the Bob Bly Direct Response Letter, see all his other books and audio products and his information crammed web site, www.bly.com .
